According to Korea Economic TV and sources from the investment banking (IB) and real estate sectors on February 11, Jennie acquired a building located in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, near the Hannam New Town redevelopment area. The purchase was made in May last year, with ownership officially transferred in December.
Notably, registry records show no mortgage or collateral rights attached to the property, leading industry insiders to believe that the transaction was completed entirely in cash.

The building, originally constructed in 1970, is situated in the northern part of Dongbinggo-dong, an area known for its concentration of foreign embassies. The property is currently used as the Embassy of Iraq in South Korea. It sits on a land area of 595 square meters, with a total floor area of 551.08 square meters, spanning from one basement level to two floors above ground. The estimated price per pyeong is approximately ₩111 million.
The Dongbinggo-dong area has recently been gaining momentum as a prime development zone, bolstered by the Hannam New Town redevelopment project and the ongoing creation of Yongsan Park. Nearby areas such as Hannam District 5, the former U.S. Army Transportation Corps site, the UN Command site, and the planned Camp Kim redevelopment are collectively considered the three major returned U.S. military sites poised for transformation into luxury residential and commercial complexes.

Beyond her music career, Jennie has steadily built a reputation as a savvy investor. In 2023, she reportedly purchased a luxury villa in the UN Village area for ₩5 billion, also in an all-cash deal. More recently, she leased an entire newly built building in Hannam-dong as the headquarters for her one-person agency, Odd Atelier (OA), with monthly rent said to exceed ₩60 million.
As she continues to balance group activities with BLACKPINK and her solo ventures, Jennie’s aggressive real estate investments have earned her praise as a textbook example of a “young and rich” celebrity, further highlighting her influence beyond the entertainment industry.
