Nicknamed a “monster rookie” in K-pop, BABYMONSTER has quickly become one of the standout names of the fifth generation of K-pop. However, the group’s lineup has recently been missing a key member. For nearly a year, main vocalist Rami has been absent from both major and minor stages, leaving fans disappointed and fueling speculation about the idol’s future.
Specifically, Rami officially paused all entertainment activities in May 2025. The singer had to withdraw from BABYMONSTER’s Asia tour last year. According to an official announcement from YG Entertainment, the decision was made due to serious and ongoing health issues.

Rami’s prolonged absence forced BABYMONSTER to promote as a six-member group during that period. She missed several important group projects and events, including the release of the music video for the song Hot Sauce in June 2025, promotions for the group’s second mini album WE GO UP, as well as multiple tour stops and major year-end music award ceremonies.
During her hiatus, updates about the singer have been extremely limited. In October 2025, fellow member Pharita reassured fans by saying that Rami’s health was gradually improving. Then in December 2025, fans became excited after noticing what appeared to be a hint of Rami’s return in the final scene of the music video Supa Dupa Luv.

However, by February 2026, YG Entertainment once again caused confusion among fans by releasing new promotional content featuring only six members, while remaining silent about Rami’s return timeline. The lack of clarification from the agency quickly reignited rumors that the idol might quietly leave the group.
Recently, Rami was reportedly spotted by fans in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The rare sighting of the singer after nearly a year away from the public eye immediately attracted attention. Notably, she was seen happily signing autographs for fans and clearly wrote her name as “BABYMONSTER RAMI,” which many interpreted as a subtle way of dismissing rumors that she had been removed from the group.

Some observers believe her trip to the United States may simply be part of her recovery process, allowing her time to rest and relax after a long period of treatment.
Rami’s absence is considered a significant loss for BABYMONSTER, as she possesses well-rounded skills and plays an important role in the group. Within the lineup, she serves as the main vocalist and is often responsible for technically demanding parts of songs, including complex runs, smooth R&B-style phrasing, and explosive high notes.

Her voice is known for its warm, rich tone that becomes bright and powerful in higher registers. With a distinct Soul and R&B color that is rare among K-pop idols of her age, Rami has played an important role in shaping BABYMONSTER’s global musical identity. Her Western-influenced vocal style has helped the group appeal more easily to international audiences.
Beyond her vocal talent, Rami is also recognized for her sharp dance skills. Her visuals are another highlight. Standing at around 172 cm tall with model-like proportions, she has always stood out within the group. From the time she was first introduced under her real name Haram to her debut with the stage name Rami, fans have watched her visuals mature and become increasingly striking.

Looking ahead to 2026, YG Entertainment announced that BABYMONSTER will return with a new mini album titled CHOOM, scheduled for release in May. The group is also expected to launch its second world tour in June, followed by a second full-length album planned for October.
However, despite the group’s packed schedule for 2026, YG Entertainment has remained completely silent about Rami’s condition and possible return. As a result, whether fans will see the talented main vocalist back under the stage lights anytime soon remains an unanswered question.
