Actress Kim Gyu Ri’s social media has been inundated with numerous malicious comments after she spoke up against a former President.
On November 9, KST, Kim made a lengthy post welcoming the court’s verdict that recognized the South Korean state’s liability in the cultural blacklist under the Lee Myung Bak administration. In her post, Kim recalled the traumatic experiences she underwent as one of the names on the government blacklist, including being constantly surveilled, being dropped from projects, and even receiving death threats.

After this post, Kim’s account has been flooded with hate comments. On November 10, KST, the actress posted a screenshot showing a few such comments. Notably, all of them came from the same account.
- “I will cut off your feet. Just wait.”

- “There is no peace for you. I’ll make sure it stays that way.”

In the caption of the post, Kim Gyu Ri mentioned that there were many more such comments and vowed to take strict legal action against them all. She gave an ultimatum for a week, giving the individuals a chance to delete the comments on their own. She also warned reporters against spreading false narratives.
Kim Gyu Ri’s post has since gone viral on Theqoo, with netizens expressing their explicit support for the actress.
