He has appealed his sentence.
Well-known actor-director Hideo Sakaki has been sentenced to prison for his crimes.

In March 2022, four different actresses came forward and accused Sakaki of coercing them into non-consensual sexual relationships. Actor Kinoshita Houka, who was accused of assault by three different women, and Sakai allegedly aided each other in drawing in women looking to break into the industry.
On February 20, 2024, Sakai was officially arrested after another woman accused him of sexually assaulting her in 2016 under the guise of giving acting advice.

The actor admitted to having sex with three of the women, but denied rape allegations.
In March 2026, Sasaki was sentenced to eight years in prison for the sexual assault of two women, though he continued to deny the allegations.
These were heinous and despicable crimes that exploited the difference in standing [between himself and the victims] and grossly infringed on the victims’ sexual freedom. […] The defendant bears heavy responsibility for his crimes, as he committed them without regard for the victims’ dignity, including having sex without contraception to satisfy his own sexual desires.

Hideo Sakaki first appeared as an actor in 1995 and went on to star in numerous works, including Battlefield Baseball and Alive. His career history includes more than one film, with a focus on sex, including the 2008 film Dark Love: Rape, in which a woman is spied upon by a voyeur who has committed multiple sex crimes.

Sakaki has appealed his prison sentence.
