Taiwanese actor Shih Po‑Yu, who rose to fame through his role in the drama Someday or One Day, is now under scrutiny for allegedly prioritizing a date over professional commitments. Reports reveal that Shih left a drama set mid‑production after claiming illness only to be caught on a date with his new girlfriend just two days later.

The incident occurred during the filming of a high-budget historical fantasy series, which had invested significantly in its production. Shih collapsed on set due to poor ventilation and was hospitalized, after which he requested sick leave for recovery. However, instead of resting, he was seen publicly out and about, reportedly looking energetic and healthy.
Crew members were infuriated, stating that Shih’s absence forced the team to rearrange scenes and delay production. One member reportedly described him as “a spoiled rich boy” and said they would refuse to work with him again.

Adding to the controversy, Shih had recently ended a brief relationship with actress Lee Mu and was quickly seen with a new partner. This near-instant transition led to further public speculation and criticism.
As Shih eyes international projects, including a joint Taiwan-Korea drama series, the backlash from this incident may hinder his previously rising star. For many in the entertainment industry, this episode underscores the importance of professionalism and responsibility, especially when part of large-scale productions.
