After nearly a decade away from performing in her hometown, Chou Tzuyu the youngest member of TWICE made a deeply emotional and historic return that has captivated fans across Asia. Her comeback was not only personal but also marked a milestone in K-pop touring history in Taiwan.
From March 20 to 22, TWICE held three consecutive shows at the Taipei Dome, drawing a total of 120,000 attendees and generating approximately $18.7 million in revenue. Prior to that, two shows in Kaohsiung in November 2025 attracted another 110,000 fans. With a combined total of 230,000 attendees across five nights, the THIS IS FOR world tour became the largest concert series ever held in Taiwan, setting new records for both attendance and revenue.

The group also made history as one of the few K-pop acts to successfully headline both of the region’s largest stadiums using a 360-degree stage setup, with every show completely sold out.
Much of this success has been attributed to Tzuyu, who is widely seen as the emotional bridge between TWICE and local audiences. Since her first return in November 2025, the idol born in 1999 has sparked massive excitement in her hometown. Public spaces filled with her signature color and crowded airport scenes highlighted her enduring popularity despite years of absence.

During the final concert night on March 22 at Taipei Dome, Tzuyu broke down in tears on stage, overwhelmed with emotion. The moment quickly went viral, becoming one of the most widely shared clips among TWICE fans. After nearly 10 years of limited activities in her home region due to past controversies, standing on stage and completing a record-breaking concert series carried a meaning far beyond numbers.
Tzuyu, whose full name is Chou Tzuyu, joined JYP Entertainment in 2012 and debuted with TWICE in 2015 through the survival show Sixteen, where she ranked highly through overwhelming public votes. As the group’s youngest member and visual, she quickly rose to prominence as one of the defining faces of third-generation K-pop.
Her beauty has long been recognized globally. In 2019, Tzuyu topped the “100 Most Beautiful Faces in the World” list by TC Candler, surpassing many global stars and maintaining her presence on the list for years. The title “most beautiful woman in the world” has since become closely associated with her name.

After years of group activities, Tzuyu made her solo debut in September 2024 with the mini album abouTZU and its title track Run Away, becoming the third TWICE member to launch a solo project. Around the same time, she also completed an online master’s program in applied psychology, reflecting her balanced focus on both career and education.
Back in 2016, Tzuyu was involved in a sensitive controversy that led to significant backlash in the Chinese market and severely limited her activities in her hometown for years. It wasn’t until late 2025, when TWICE performed in Kaohsiung, that she officially returned to large-scale performances in Taiwan after nearly a decade.

During her recent concerts, Tzuyu has received praise for her improved stage presence, expressive performance, and stronger connection with the audience. After years of absence and challenges, she has now returned stronger than ever helping TWICE set new milestones and rewriting K-pop history in Taiwan.
