On November 1, T.O.P posted a lengthy apology on his social media, writing, “I want to express my heartfelt feelings to the administrators of Choi Seung-hyun.com, who have stayed by my side throughout the past 20 years.”
He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Even during moments when I found it difficult to believe in myself, you believed in me and gave me the strength to make music again. I will never forget the time, effort, and precious sincerity you have given me.”
He continued, “I hope that even the precious years we spent together will not be remembered through misunderstandings or become a source of hurt for either side. I understand very well that the attention and love you have shown me should never be taken for granted. I sincerely apologize to the administrators and fans who have been hurt because of me.”
Previously, T.O.P’s representative fan site, Choi Seung-hyun.com, which was established in 2006, announced on October 9 that it would cease operations. The administrators criticized the lack of communication from his agency, the transfer of responsibilities onto fans, and what they described as an attitude that took fans’ dedication for granted. They urged the agency to “give up the arrogance of assuming that fans will take care of everything on their own.”
T.O.P’s agency, Topspot Pictures, subsequently issued an apology. However, as criticism continued, T.O.P appears to have stepped in personally to address the situation.
Meanwhile, T.O.P recently released his first full-length solo album, ANOTHER DIMENSION, and has been continuing his activities. Last month, he also officially confirmed his relationship with actress Nana, a member of After School.
