South Korean television personality Jun Hyun Moo has made a startling revelation about how deeply online criticism once affected him, admitting that he even considered undergoing surgery to remove his nipples after receiving cruel comments about his appearance.

During the October 25 episode of KBS 2TV’s Boss in the Mirror, Jun reflected on the harsh reactions he faced early in his broadcasting career. At the time, he struggled with a public image that some viewers considered unlikable, and the criticism sometimes targeted even the most unexpected aspects of his appearance.
Jun recalled that the first hateful comment he received was particularly hurtful: “Even his nipples are unlikable.”
Another commenter reportedly made fun of his prominent nipples, joking that they were large enough to hang a jacket from. Although such remarks might sound ridiculous, Jun revealed that he took them seriously enough to investigate the possibility of having the body part surgically removed.
“They said even my nipples were unlikable, so I actually looked into surgery to have them cut off,” he confessed.

Jun explained that he even consulted a doctor about the procedure. However, the doctor advised him against it, reportedly warning that the surgery could result in excessive bleeding.
The experience left a lasting impression on him. Jun said the constant criticism eventually made him increasingly self-conscious about his appearance, prompting him to explore various cosmetic treatments and grooming procedures.
“No matter how hard I worked on broadcasts, people who didn’t even know me kept criticizing my looks. That’s when I started taking care of myself, getting hair removal treatments and other procedures,” he explained.
He also revealed that the negative reactions became difficult to ignore when people openly expressed that they did not want to see him on television. The comments ultimately pushed him to make changes to his appearance in an effort to deal with the criticism.
His candid confession surprised the other guests in the studio, including his close friend Um Ji In. She admitted that although she knew he had struggled with negative comments, she had not realized the extent of his distress or that he had seriously considered such an extreme procedure.
Fellow television personality Kim Sook also expressed sympathy for Jun, pointing out how deeply the remarks must have affected him to make him consider surgery. She added that the group could laugh about the incident now because it was already in the past.

Today, Jun Hyun Moo is one of South Korea’s most recognizable television personalities. However, his revelation offered a more vulnerable look at the emotional toll that appearance-based criticism can take, showing how even seemingly absurd remarks can leave a lasting impact on the person receiving them.
