Now up to its fifth episode, Doctor X: Mafia in White has been making waves on Netflix worldwide, attracting considerable attention from viewers. Stories surrounding the drama have also become frequent topics of discussion. Among the most surprising details is the appearance of a Vietnamese actress in the series.

She is Nguyễn Thùy Dung, a young woman currently living and working in South Korea. Recently, Thùy Dung shared some memorable experiences from filming Doctor X: Mafia in White, particularly the opportunity to appear in the same frame as renowned actress Kim Ji Won.
According to Thùy Dung, she played three background roles in the drama: a staff member handling hospital visit applications, a doctor, and a hospital receptionist. Although her screen time was limited, she still felt incredibly fortunate to have been part of the project.
Notably, among approximately 200 background actors from two casting teams based in Seoul and Busan, Nguyễn Thùy Dung was the only person selected to play the receptionist and film scenes inside the hospital. This was an especially meaningful experience that she deeply appreciated.

The Vietnamese actress also recalled a heartwarming moment on set. During filming on an extremely cold day, two actual hospital security guards went out of their way to give her their portable heater and even bought her hot coffee. Their simple yet sincere kindness left Thùy Dung deeply touched.
She also expressed her happiness at seeing Kim Ji Won up close and having the opportunity to appear in the same frame as the famous star. “I had already had the chance to see Kim Ji Won from incredibly close distances during the early filming days, but this time, I actually made it into a frame with her, so I felt 100 times happier,” she shared.

As for Doctor X, the series is a medical drama centered on the story of Gye Su Jeong, a brilliant doctor. Although she may seem eccentric, she has a warm heart and is willing to do anything for her patients. She is also unafraid to confront the darker sides of the hospital where she works.
The drama has been enjoying considerable success, achieving impressive results on Netflix while also recording strong ratings on SBS. It currently holds an 8.5 rating on MyDramaList, reflecting viewers’ positive reception of the series and their appreciation for the cast’s performances.
