Beyond his extraordinary physical strength and enormous Ki reserves, Beerus, Universe 7’s God of Destruction, possesses an impressive arsenal of advanced techniques in Dragon Ball.
Beerus’ overwhelming power is precisely why he remains one of the most feared figures in the series. From his very first appearance in Dragon Ball Super, he demonstrated an enormous gap in strength between himself and Goku and the other Z Fighters. He even effortlessly defeated Goku in his Super Saiyan 3 form with just a few casual strikes.
Notably, Beerus’ strength does not rely solely on physical power or massive Ki blasts. He possesses one of the most diverse arsenals of abilities in the franchise. Here are five of the most dangerous techniques that define the God of Destruction!
1. Hakai (Destruction)
Hakai undoubtedly takes the top spot as the signature and most terrifying ability of a God of Destruction. Unlike ordinary energy attacks that inflict physical damage, Hakai completely erases its target from existence. The victim is not merely injured or killed biologically but is wiped out entirely.

One of the clearest examples comes when Beerus confronts Zamasu, a Supreme Kai apprentice from Universe 10 who is plotting to eliminate all mortal life. Once Beerus recognizes Zamasu’s sinister intentions, he uses Hakai to erase him immediately, without needing an extended battle or a spectacular display of explosive energy.
However, Hakai is not an invincible technique capable of erasing absolutely anyone without exception. In the manga, Beerus explains that it cannot be used to eliminate beings who are truly immortal. Its effectiveness still depends on the target’s condition and the user’s abilities.
Despite these limitations, Hakai remains at number one because its threat is fundamentally different from that of ordinary Ki attacks. Even a powerful warrior like Vegeta has to undergo special training with Beerus to learn how to wield this destructive power.
2. Energy of Destruction
As a God of Destruction, Beerus has access to the dangerous Energy of Destruction, which is far more specialized than ordinary Ki. Unlike conventional energy blasts that cause damage through impact, this power is directly associated with the ability to annihilate its target.

Beerus uses this principle to unleash devastating attacks. In the Dragon Ball Super manga, he demonstrates to Vegeta how destroying an object with this technique can release an enormous amount of energy. When Beerus crushes a small rock during Vegeta’s training, the resulting energy release is powerful enough to astonish the Saiyan Prince.
The training session proves that Energy of Destruction is not simply a matter of possessing a large amount of Ki. Users must understand how the power works to unlock its full destructive potential. This energy forms the foundation of Beerus’ destructive techniques, including Hakai itself.
3. Imperfect Ultra Instinct
Goku is not the only character capable of using Ultra Instinct. Beerus also understands this advanced technique, although he has yet to master it completely. Ultra Instinct allows the body to react automatically to threats without conscious thought, making it possible to dodge attacks with exceptional efficiency even in high-speed battles.

This ability is clearly demonstrated in Chapter 28 of the Dragon Ball Super manga, during an exhibition match between the Gods of Destruction ahead of the Tournament of Power. Surrounded and attacked by multiple Gods of Destruction at once, Beerus dodges a series of consecutive attacks with incredibly swift and precise movements, making it extremely difficult for the other gods to land a hit.
Nevertheless, because he has not fully mastered the technique, Beerus can still be struck when the battle becomes too chaotic. Even in its incomplete state, this ability gives him a tremendous advantage, allowing him to leave opponents struggling to touch him before he even needs to unleash his destructive attacks.
4. Energy Nullification
What would happen if an attack powerful enough to threaten an entire universe could simply be neutralized? That is precisely the kind of energy-control ability Beerus has demonstrated.
During his battle with Goku in the Super Saiyan God form, the collision between their powers generates shock waves that threaten to destroy Universe 7 if the clash continues. The situation becomes increasingly dangerous as the energy from their attacks accumulates and produces a massive explosion. However, Beerus manages to neutralize the accumulated energy before the destruction can spread further.

This ability shows that Beerus is not merely skilled at destroying things; he also possesses an extraordinary level of energy control. However, it should not be considered a limitless ability capable of neutralizing every attack under any circumstances. It has been demonstrated in the specific context of the energy clash with Goku. Even so, neutralizing such an enormous amount of energy provides compelling evidence of Beerus’ exceptional mastery of Ki.
5. Cataclysmic Orb
Do not let the playful way Beerus uses this technique fool you. Although he appears to be playing with a ball, the Cataclysmic Orb is an energy attack with devastating destructive potential.

Beerus creates a purple energy sphere resembling an atomic structure. He can bounce and manipulate it with his hands, feet, or other parts of his body before launching it like a spear toward his opponent. The technique appears during his battle against Goku in the Super Saiyan God form. Beerus can create not just one but multiple Cataclysmic Orbs at once, overwhelming his opponent with a barrage of attacks.
Even so, the attack can be countered. Goku demonstrates that he can destroy the orb with a Kamehameha, proving that opponents with sufficient energy can find ways to defend themselves. Although it ranks last on this list, the Cataclysmic Orb remains a dangerous technique that allows Beerus to pressure his enemies from multiple directions without necessarily engaging them in close combat.
