The variety show I Live Alone, previously embroiled in editing manipulation controversies, is now facing criticism over safety negligence.
On a recent episode of MBC program I Live Alone, Gu Sung Hwan and an acquaintance were shown attempting a bungee jump.

While Gu Sung Hwan’s terrified reaction elicited laughs from viewers, concerns were raised about the safety measures for staff on site.
Although Gu Sung Hwan and his friend wore safety harnesses, the staff member assisting them was not equipped with any additional safety harness or fall protection gear. Furthermore, there were no protective ropes securing the staff member’s feet as he managed the bungee cords, causing worry.

While experienced professionals might sometimes omit certain equipment, given that this concerns life-threatening risks, viewers expressed significant concern.
Some viewers watching the broadcast commented, “I noticed the elder staff member wasn’t wearing any safety gear, it looked dangerous,” and “What if the guests, scared, try to grab his hand? It looks way too risky.”
One social media user directly addressed the issue, stating, “Watching I Live Alone made me question if this is right. The staff working on the bungee platform didn’t wear safety shoes, helmets, or even a fall arrest harness. Instead, he was stepping on the bungee cord and letting it go.”
He added, “If the cord tangled around his foot or slipped, it would be truly terrifying. This clearly exposes how deep safety negligence runs at our workplaces. I hope the staff working on the bungee platform will be properly equipped with safety gear.”
Meanwhile, I Live Alone faced editing manipulation allegations over an impromptu trip episode featuring Jun Hyun Moo in Kazakhstan.
