On October 10, Shin Min Ah attended the Actors’ House event at the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), held at the Culture Hall of Shinsegae Department Store’s Centum City branch in Haeundae, Busan.
During the event, the actress discussed her experience starring in the 2014 romantic comedy My Love, My Bride, a remake of the 1990 film of the same name starring Park Joong Hoon and the late Choi Jin Sil.
Shin Min Ah explained, “I’ve worked on quite a few projects based on existing works, including My Love, My Bride, The Eyes, and The Remarried Empress. Honestly, there’s an enormous amount of pressure when you’re working on something that already has an original version. It was especially intimidating because the film and its characters were so deeply loved by audiences.”
She continued, “The screenplay was adapted very well to suit the time, and even watching it now, I think the female lead is someone audiences can relate to. That’s why I felt confident enough to take on the role. Choi Jin Sil portrayed the character so beautifully, and I wanted to express it in my own way. I’m relieved and grateful that so many people enjoyed the film.”
