In July 2026, XG‘s Hinata was seemingly seen vaping on stage during a concert.
This was confirmed in a behind-the-scenes video, in which the idol could be seen hitting what appeared to be a vape.
The video was met with mixed reactions and became a massive talking point on X (formerly Twitter).

On September 17, Hinata shared an upload to XG’s fan app’s blog, which included a photo of herself. In the image, she is holding an item in her hand as smoke appears to come out of her mouth.
With the image being of her “smoking,” many fans have seen it as a response to the mixed reactions her on-stage actions pulled.
They criticized Maya’s dancing, so she danced even harder. They criticized Cocona’s surgery scar, and he showed it off at events. And Hinata just posted a photo smoking after the backlash.
