Lisa heads into her new EP, Press Play, with a solo track record already built on multiple Guinness World Records and Billboard chart milestones, dating back to her 2021 debut.
Lisa’s solo debut, the single album Lalisa, sold more than 736,000 copies in its first week in South Korea, making her the first female artist to hit that mark in a single week, according to Guinness World Records’ recognition of the achievement. The title track’s music video also drew 73.6 million views in its first 24 hours on YouTube, a total that set the Guinness World Record for the most-viewed music video by a solo artist within a day of release.
The single album’s other track, “Money,” later earned Lisa a separate Guinness title when it became the first K-pop track by a solo artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, a milestone Guinness confirmed in September 2024 after the song passed roughly 1.002 billion streams. “Money” also holds the record for the longest-charting song by a solo female K-pop artist on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, according to Billboard’s reporting on the achievement.
Lisa’s 2024 single “Rockstar” gave her a different kind of milestone: her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart as a solo artist. The song also won her a second MTV Video Music Award for Best K-Pop, making her the first solo artist in the award’s history to win the category twice.
Her 2025 debut full-length album, Alter Ego, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, marking her first entry in the chart’s top 10 as a solo artist and, at the time, the second-highest Billboard 200 debut by a K-pop female soloist, behind bandmate Rosé’s No. 3 debut with Rosie. Alter Ego also debuted at No. 20 on the UK’s Official Albums Top 100.
Across her solo career, Lisa has been credited with nine total Guinness World Records, a total that includes her standing as the most-followed K-pop artist on Instagram.
