A popular K-Pop idol candidly revealed the reason her appearance has changed as she entered her 30s.
On September 2nd, KBS Radio’s Gabee’s Super Radio featured Chungha, who talked about age and appearance.

That day, Gabee said to Chungha, “You’ve just entered your 30s. There are a lot of comments lately saying you give off a mature woman’s vibe.”
Chungha replied, “I’m not sure what a mature woman’s vibe is, but maybe I’m just overthinking it. It feels like the idea that I’m in my 30s has gone viral, but I want people to just think I’m still in my 20s.”

Then Gabee mentioned, “Your face looks calmer. The atmosphere is much more serene,” referring to Chungha’s appearance.
Chungha responded with a laugh, “Maybe because all the baby fat has gone? My friends even ask if I’ve had some kind of sculpting done, but even I feel I’ve lost quite a bit.”

Chungha opened up about the hurtful comments she’s received since turning 30. She said, “Sometimes there are painful comments. For example, ‘Honestly, you’re washed-up,’ or ‘You’ve done enough in your 30s, so step aside now,’ are common. Maybe it’s because of what being in your 30s means. Sometimes when my mental health isn’t great, I feel that way too.”
She continued, “I want to be in my 30s rather than my 20s. I haven’t fully lived through my 30s yet, so I can’t say it’s my prime, but I think how you define your prime varies.”
Meanwhile, on May 19, Chungha reunited with I.O.I after about nine years and released the mini album I.O.I : LOOP. She made her comeback on September 1 with a new digital single, “México.”
