She neglected herself after childbirth.
Former LABOUM member Yulhee has revealed the unexpected changes to her skin and face after two pregnancies, giving birth to three children, and years of neglecting her own self-care.
On the August 28 broadcast of Channel A’s Beauty Clinic Touch Me, Yulhee appeared as the youngest featured guest in the program’s history and underwent an in-depth examination of her skin health.
Born in 1997, Yulhee admitted that being relatively young had made her assume she did not need to worry much about skincare. However, after going through two pregnancies and raising three children, she said she had spent considerably more time caring for her family than herself. Her everyday habits surprised the show’s hosts and beauty experts.
Yulhee revealed that she would eat late-night meals and sometimes fall asleep without even removing her makeup. But once she washed her face and appeared completely bare-faced on camera, experts discovered skin concerns that Yulhee herself apparently had not fully recognized.

After examining Yulhee’s skin, beauty expert Kim Hyun Ok identified inflammation as one of the biggest underlying concerns. She explained that when components supporting the skin, including collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, are damaged, the resulting deterioration can manifest through numerous visible concerns, including dryness, redness, loss of elasticity and wrinkles.
Inflammation can play a role in that process. Ironically, one of Yulhee’s biggest problems may have come not from failing to cleanse her skin, but from sometimes cleansing it far too aggressively. Yulhee revealed that she had repeatedly practiced an extreme cleansing routine involving three separate cleansing steps lasting approximately 30 minutes.

Experts warned that while insufficient cleansing can cause problems, excessively washing and rubbing the face can also place unnecessary stress on the skin barrier. Yulhee was visibly surprised to discover that a habit she had presumably considered a way of keeping her skin extremely clean could instead have contributed to irritation and inflammation.
Her skin wasn’t the only unexpected discovery. The experts also examined everyday habits that could potentially be affecting Yulhee’s facial appearance. According to the program, Yulhee had a tendency to clench her teeth while exercising without consciously realizing she was doing it. The experts suggested that repeatedly clenching could contribute to facial asymmetry and increased prominence of the jaw muscles, creating what is sometimes referred to in Korea as a “peanut-shaped” face, where the sides of the face appear wider around the cheekbone and jaw areas relative to the middle.

After discovering the number of seemingly harmless habits that could be working against her, those in the studio couldn’t hide their concern. Yulhee subsequently began a customized three-step treatment plan intended to improve her compromised skin condition. She was given skin booster shots, botox for the skin, as well as contouring fillers.

Following the transformation, she appeared with a noticeably more polished look reminiscent of her days actively promoting as a girl group member, drawing surprised reactions from those in the studio.

Yulhee debuted as a member of LABOUM before leaving the group. She married FTISLAND member Choi Minhwan in 2018, and the former couple welcomed one son and twin daughters. They announced their divorce in 2023.
