After her mother was arrested and imprisoned, Han So-hee returned to Wonju and re-enrolled in the fourth grade, effectively repeating the school year. This unusual interruption in her education reportedly resulted in her birth year being mistakenly recorded or understood as one year later than her actual birth year.
