Famous paraplegic YouTuber Park We‘s staggering lecture fees have been confirmed through public institution meeting minutes.
According to a report by Sports Kyunghyang on August 26th, the Seoul Dongjak-gu Administrative and Financial Committee’s meeting minutes contain specific remarks regarding Park We’s lecture fee.
A representative from the Dongjak Cultural Foundation was questioned about the ₩12.0 million KRW (about $8,680 USD) cost for inviting an influencer instructor during the 2025 budget review process held on December 9, 2024.
In this process, they mentioned considering Park We’s engagement, explaining that “the asking price is over ₩10.0 million KRW (about $7,240 USD) to ₩15.0 million KRW (about $10,900 USD).” The lecture was said to have lasted two hours at that time.
In fact, Park We was invited as a speaker at Dongjak-gu’s 2024 Dongjak Life Mic event. Comedian Kim Young Cheol appeared as a speaker at the first event held on August 30, and Park We was introduced as a speaker at the second event on September 6. Both events were hosted at the Seoul Women’s Plaza Art Hall Bom and are documented in the Dongjak Cultural Foundation’s event records.
However, the amounts paid to Park We for lectures and events verified in public institutions varied significantly depending on the institution and timing.
Geumsan County paid ₩5.00 million KRW (about $3,620 USD) for a special lecture by Park Wi in 2023. Yongsan-gu also previously explained in a 2024 district council meeting that Park Wi’s lecture fee was “around ₩6.00 million KRW (about $4,340 USD).”
There are also recent contracts. Bupyeong-gu signed a special lecture service contract with Weracle Factory, where Park We is the CEO, for ₩4.46 million KRW (about $3,230 USD) this year and fully paid the amount on May 14.
As for the Gangnam Cultural Foundation, they signed a contract on the 4th of this month for ₩9.35 million KRW (about $6,770 USD) with a lecture planning company related to Park We’s talk concert. However, the event was canceled on the 24th due to controversy surrounding Park We.
