On August 22, Woo Seo-yoon was crowned Jin (Grand Prize), the highest honor at the 70th Miss Korea Pageant, during the finals held at COEX in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
She had previously competed in the 70th Miss Seoul-Gyeonggi-Incheon preliminary pageant in May, where she was named Sun and qualified for the national competition.
At the finals, Oh Su-min, representing Jeolla-Gwangju-Jeju, received the Sun title, while Lee Min-sol, representing Busan-Ulsan, was named Mi.

Born in 2003, Woo Seo-yoon is currently studying fine art at Tufts University in the United States.
Woo Seo-yoon is the eldest daughter of former professional basketball player and television personality Woo Ji-won. At 175 cm tall, she has also attracted attention for her striking height, which she reportedly inherited from her father, who stands at 191 cm. She first became known to Korean viewers as a child after appearing on several television programs, including SBS’s ‘Star Junior Show 붕어빵’ and tvN’s ‘Leaving the Nest 3.’
More recently, she appeared on the dating reality show ‘My Child’s Romance 2,’ which concluded in April. On the program, Woo Seo-yoon was involved in a love-triangle storyline with Jo Eun-byeol, the daughter of comedian Lee Sung-mi, as both were interested in Shin Jae-hyuk. The storyline ultimately did not result in Woo Seo-yoon forming a relationship with him.

Following Woo Seo-yoon’s Miss Korea victory, footage and images from her earlier television appearances began circulating again online. Some users claimed that her appearance looked noticeably different compared with her younger years and raised questions about whether she had undergone cosmetic procedures.
However, others argued that such comparisons are unreliable. Woo Seo-yoon appeared on television during her teenage years, while she is now an adult. Natural changes associated with age, weight, makeup and styling can all affect a person’s appearance.

Most importantly, Woo Seo-yoon has not publicly confirmed that she has undergone plastic surgery. Therefore, the claims currently circulating online remain speculation rather than established fact.
The controversy also brought renewed attention to a comment made by Woo Seo-yoon’s mother, Lee Gyo-young, more than a decade ago. Lee Gyo-young appeared on SBS’s ‘Star Couple Show: Jagiya’ in 2010, where she spoke openly about her own cosmetic procedures.
During the broadcast, she humorously remarked that it would be easier to identify the parts of her face that had not undergone cosmetic surgery than those that had. Her candid comment has resurfaced online in connection with the recent speculation surrounding her daughter.

However, her mother’s history with cosmetic procedures does not provide evidence about Woo Seo-yoon’s appearance or whether she has personally undergone any procedures.
With her Miss Korea victory, Woo Seo-yoon is now attracting significantly more public attention than she did before. Alongside her studies in fine art and previous television appearances, her new title could open the door to further opportunities in entertainment, fashion and beauty.
For now, however, the focus remains on her achievement as the Jin winner of the 70th Miss Korea Pageant, rather than unverified speculation about her appearance.
