On August 13, Chaeyoung personally addressed ONCE, TWICE’s fandom, to share the news about her future activities. “I wanted to be the first to personally share news about myself with ONCE, who have always been like family and stayed by my side,” she wrote. She then revealed that she plans to continue creating music within her own “LIL FANTASY” world, signaling a new direction as a solo artist.
Chaeyoung also expressed her gratitude toward her TWICE members and JYP Entertainment. “I’m grateful to the people at JYP and the TWICE team who supported and believed in this mischievous version of me for 14 years. I’m also thankful to and love my members who have always stood by me, supported me and given me strength,” she said.
At the same time, Chaeyoung made it clear that her activities with TWICE will continue as before, emphasizing her deep affection for the group. “I believe the reason I have received so much love is because of the time I have spent promoting as TWICE, which is the root of who I am,” she explained. She added that she hopes both Chaeyoung of TWICE and Chaeyoung of LIL FANTASY can become artists who give fans meaningful music throughout their lives.
Chaeyoung previously released her first solo album, LIL FANTASY vol.1, in September last year, showcasing her distinctive artistic identity and strong musical color. The album received positive reviews both in Korea and internationally, ranking No. 86 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Best Albums of 2025,” while also being named among Forbes’ “Best K-Pop Albums of 2025” and ranking No. 7 on Billboard’s “Best K-Pop Albums of 2025.”
As she prepares to embark on this new challenge, Chaeyoung ended her message with a promise to fans: “I also promise that I’ll become an even better person. Please look forward to what’s ahead. I love you.”
