RESCENE member Woni’s school bullying allegations have been put to rest after her former middle school homeroom teacher publicly denied the claims and shared personal memories of the idol’s school years.
On August 2, a person claiming to be Woni’s former homeroom teacher created an account on X (formerly Twitter) to address the rumors. The teacher shared supporting materials, including Woni’s handwritten letter, graduation photos, pictures with classmates, and conversations with other teachers who taught her during middle school.
According to AllKPop, the teacher strongly rejected the accusations that Woni had been involved in bullying and asked people to stop spreading criticism based on unverified claims.
“If Woni did anything wrong during her school years, then I take responsibility for not teaching her better. But I hope people will stop the indiscriminate criticism based on groundless claims,” the teacher said.
The former teacher described Woni as a responsible student who actively participated in school activities.
According to the teacher, Woni served as a student council officer throughout her school years and faithfully carried out her duties. The teacher also recalled Woni’s kind personality, saying she often gave candy to teachers while expressing her affection.
Woni was also involved in student council work, school events, performance activities, and even an anti-bullying campaign.
The teacher shared a special memory from Woni’s graduation period, explaining that Woni and her friends visited a cake workshop before graduation to make handmade cakes and give them as gifts to their teachers.
Woni’s Former Teacher Shares Final Message
The teacher, who admitted being strict with students early in their career, said Woni was one of the students who respected their guidance. They remembered their emotional farewell at graduation, saying they hugged and cried while saying goodbye.
The teacher also explained that Woni has maintained friendships with her former classmates. They said the friends seen in the shared photos are still close today and even went on a trip together earlier this year, although Woni could not join because of her schedule.
After the teacher’s statement was posted, the original accusation against Woni was deleted. The account that uploaded the allegations was also removed as of August 3.
Before closing the account, the teacher left a final message about the situation. They reminded people that everyone can make mistakes and unintentionally hurt others, encouraging them to approach others with understanding instead of judgment.
Quoting the Confucian saying, “When three people walk together, there is always someone I can learn from,” the teacher shared a message about choosing kindness and recognizing the good in others. The teacher ended by thanking fans for supporting Woni and asked them to continue showing encouragement toward the young artist.
The controversy began on August 1 after an anonymous online post accused Woni of problematic behavior during her middle school years, SportsKhan reported.
However, after the former teacher and classmates provided statements rejecting the claims, the accusations were widely questioned.
