ATEEZ released its fifth Japanese single, “BAD (Japanese Ver.),” on July 29, 2026, marking the group’s first Japanese single in roughly one year and ten months, following “Birthday,” which came out in October 2024.
The release presents a Japanese-language version of “BAD,” whose original music video arrived in June 2026, rather than an entirely new composition.
According to a July 29 snapshot from Kworb, an independent YouTube trend-tracking site, the “BAD (Japanese Ver.)” video appeared in YouTube’s music trends across roughly 18 tracked markets. Selected positions included No. 10 in Japan, No. 15 in Canada, No. 18 in Thailand, No. 24 in Australia, No. 27 in the United States, No. 29 in South Korea, No. 31 in Indonesia and No. 33 in the United Kingdom. These figures reflect a snapshot of YouTube’s trending music videos rather than a placement on a sales-based chart.
The single’s release comes alongside a broader Japanese promotional campaign for ATEEZ, which official announcements describe as including additional fan-facing activities tied to the release. Specific event dates and eligibility details for those activities have not been independently confirmed and are not included here.
The Japanese version’s arrival across markets spanning Japan, North America and Southeast Asia illustrates how ATEEZ’s “BAD” campaign has extended beyond its original June release into a second phase built around the group’s Japanese single format.
