Recently, Lee Dong Wook and actress Kim Hye Jun, the stars of the Disney+ original series A Shop for Killers 2, appeared as guests on the YouTube variety show Pinggyego, produced by the DdeunDdeun channel.
When asked how he first entered the entertainment industry, Lee Dong Wook recalled, “I think I was about five years old when my mother entered me into a children’s model contest held by a bakery company. She later told me I had been selected.” However, the actor admitted that he was far too shy to enjoy the experience. “I was so timid that I would always hide behind my mom and cling to her leg. We kept trying, but it never really worked out,” he said.
Lee Dong Wook explained that it wasn’t until much later that he seriously considered becoming an actor. “As I got older, especially in high school, I developed the dream of becoming an actor. I attended an acting academy, and that’s how I eventually made my debut,” he shared.

After hearing the story, host Yoo Jae Suk reminisced about the past, saying, “Back then, bakery companies and beverage brands used to hold a lot of children’s model competitions.”
The conversation ended on a lighthearted note when comedian Heo Kyung Hwan complimented Lee Dong Wook’s appearance. “His eyes are so beautiful. Looking at him from here, I feel like one of his eyes is as big as both of Jae Suk’s eyes combined,” he joked, drawing laughter from everyone on set.
