Here’s how she felt about the whole thing.
On the July 6 episode of tvN STORY’s Waste Not, veteran actress Go Doo Shim appeared as a guest for the show’s first-anniversary Jeju Island special.
During the episode, host Lee Young Ja brought up Go Doo Shim’s past romance film with actor Ji Hyun Woo, who is 33 years her junior. The pairing drew major attention at the time due to the large age gap between the two actors.

Lee Young Ja: From the viewers’ perspective, it was shocking. Since the age difference was so big, weren’t you scared?”
Go Doo Shim: I don’t think I was scared.
Lee Young Ja then asked whether she knew from the script that there would be a kiss scene with Ji Hyun Woo. Go Doo Shim admitted she knew and wondered how she should approach it. When Lee Young Ja pressed further, asking if the two had actually kissed, Go Doo Shim downplayed the scene.

Lee Young Ja: When you received the script, you knew there was a kiss scene with Ji Hyun Woo, right?
Go Doo Shim: I knew. I wondered what I should do. It was that kind of scene, but I don’t think there was anything particularly special.
Go Doo Shim then revealed the unexpected detail from filming.

I don’t think I made any bloopers, but I think Hyun Woo said we should do it one more time.

The comment immediately drew attention, especially because of the 33-year age difference between the two stars. Still, Go Doo Shim emphasized that the scene was not meant to be strange or sensational. Instead, she explained that it stemmed from her character’s emotions.

It wasn’t a story that only flowed toward Ji Hyun Woo’s love. She was a grandmother, but she was also a woman. She was someone whose life was pitiful, so it was a scene where those emotions collided. That’s why it didn’t feel strange.
