BTS has once again proven its worldwide influence after the group’s fifth full-length album, ARIRANG, recorded 3.8 billion streams in only eight weeks.
According to global music data company Luminate, the album reached the milestone between March 20 and May 14 across major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. The achievement comes as BTS returned as a full group for the first time in more than three years while also launching its new world tour.
The group’s overall music catalog also saw major growth during the same period. Luminate reported that total streams for all BTS songs surpassed 5.3 billion worldwide, showing strong interest not only in the new album but also in the group’s older releases.
One reason the numbers stood out was BTS’s balanced popularity across different regions. Latin America accounted for 27% of the album’s total streams, followed by Northeast Asia at 17%, North America at 14%, Southeast Asia at 13%, and Europe at 12%, AllKPop reported.
A representative from BigHit Music said the results prove BTS’s music is “consumed evenly across major global markets rather than being concentrated in a specific region.”
The album’s tracks also performed strongly on their own. The title song SWIM became the first song released in 2026 to pass 500 million Spotify streams. B-side tracks Body to Body and Hooligan each crossed 200 million streams, while every song on the 14-track album surpassed 100 million streams.

BTS Dominates US Physical Album Sales
Physical album sales remained impressive as well. BTS ranked No. 1 in U.S. physical album sales after selling more than 810,000 copies of ARIRANG, including CDs and vinyl records. The figure was reportedly four times higher than sales recorded by the second- and third-ranked artists combined.
Luminate’s survey also showed stronger fan loyalty compared to 2021. According to AJP, around 26% of respondents were classified as highly engaged fans, 15% said they felt emotionally attached to BTS, and 9% identified as superfans.
Interest from casual listeners also increased. The survey found that 44% of respondents viewed BTS positively, while 32% identified themselves as listeners of the group’s music.
Luminate added that BTS continues to attract new audiences despite K-pop still being a smaller genre among the general public. The report noted that 38% of BTS listeners identified as Hispanic or Latino.
BigHit Music stated that the findings show BTS is “maintaining the loyalty of its existing fanbase while attracting new consumers and expanding its mainstream audience.” BTS will continue its ARIRANG world tour with concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on July 6 and 7.
