Japan’s entertainment industry is currently facing major controversy after top comedian Honma Kiddo was accused of having an extramarital affair shortly after getting married.
According to reports from NHK on May 15, the comedian had only publicly announced his marriage to his office-worker girlfriend on April 28. However, just 17 days after the wedding announcement, allegations surfaced claiming he had been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a married woman.
The scandal quickly exploded online after alleged private messages and intimate photos began circulating across social media and online communities, shocking many fans.
According to entertainment gossip blogger Deathdol Note, who is known for exposing scandals involving Japanese celebrities, Honma Kiddo allegedly maintained a relationship with a married female fan between November 2023 and May 2024.
The blogger claimed the comedian even brought the woman to his private residence for dates. Leaked messages allegedly revealed conversations and secret meetings that appeared to go far beyond ordinary friendship, with many exchanges described by netizens as flirtatious and suggestive.
To further support the accusations, Deathdol Note reportedly released two intimate photos allegedly involving Honma Kiddo and the woman.
Following the controversy, Japanese netizens strongly criticized both the comedian and the woman involved, accusing them of betraying their spouses and behaving irresponsibly despite the public attention surrounding the case.
Many online users questioned the morality of celebrities involved in scandals like this and announced plans to boycott the comedian. Fans also expressed deep disappointment, especially because the allegations surfaced so soon after his marriage.
As of now, neither Honma Kiddo nor his agency has officially responded to the accusations.
However, local reports claim the scandal has already caused serious strain on the comedian’s newly married life. According to sources, his wife was reportedly devastated after learning about the alleged affair and struggled to accept the situation.
Reports further claimed that the husband of the married woman was actually the person who provided screenshots of messages and photos to Deathdol Note in order to expose the relationship publicly.
The man was reportedly furious after discovering that his wife had been involved with the celebrity she admired, leading him to leak the evidence as an act of revenge against both Honma Kiddo and his wife.
