On April 3, the web variety show Gangho Neighborhood Bookstore featured AKMU members Lee Suhyun and Lee Chanhyuk as guests, where they had a candid conversation with host Kang Ho Dong.
During the episode, Lee Suhyun reflected on their early days before Lee Chanhyuk’s military enlistment. She shared, “My brother really does a lot, but back then, I don’t think I fully realized just how much he was doing.”

She continued, “At the time, I probably thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be about 50-50 between us?’ Without really knowing anything, my brother enlisted, and I had to fill the gap alone. So I confidently declared, ‘I should make my own album too,’ and went ahead with it—but it wasn’t it,” she admitted, drawing laughter.
She added, “I realized, ‘Ah, I was arrogant. I don’t have the ability to produce.’ I thought that if I put my mind to it, I could compose easily like my brother, but then I realized, ‘This isn’t it.’ I learned that I have my own strengths, and I can’t naturally do what my brother excels at. It was quite shocking. In reality, my brother was doing about 90% of the work.”

Meanwhile, Lee Chanhyuk also opened up about the difficult period when his sister struggled with a slump. He recalled, “It felt like Suhyun was left all alone.”
In response, Lee Suhyun revealed, “There was a time when I said I thought I should quit AKMU,” surprising many with her honesty.
Lee Chanhyuk then shared a heartfelt memory, saying, “Even if you fall into a deep pit, I would hold your hand and jump in with you.” Recalling this moment once again during the show left a lasting emotional impact on viewers.
