BTS member V’s recent confession about almost giving up his dream of becoming a singer has drawn major attention.
V shared the story during his appearance on Fairy Jaehyung’s YouTube channel.
During his conversation with Jaehyung, the BTS member was asked when he first dreamed of becoming a singer. He responded by revealing that he had nurtured that dream since he was in elementary school. It was his grandmother who introduced the profession’s concept to him.
When I was in elementary school, we were told to choose a career ending in ‘-sa.’ I was the only one who said I wanted to be a singer. My grandmother told me, ‘Singers are people like this, and actors are people like that.’

Jung Jaehyung praised V’s family for supporting his dream, unlike most families. He then joked that the BTS member was so handsome, he could just get away with showing different parts of his face as the main content of the episode.
V laughed and shared an anecdote about how he almost gave up on his dream of becoming a singer because of the visuals of Kang Dong Won. He recalled his grandmother showing him a banner with Kang’s face on it, telling him, “Those are the kinds of people who become [celebrities].”
This made V give up his dream for a while, thinking he could never become someone like Kang. However, it was his love for performance and music that kept him going. He recalled receiving pocket money in exchange for dancing for a few minutes and described it as his “own kind of happiness.” These experiences ultimately fueled his hunger to be on stage.
