On the 23rd, Lee Jung Woo posted a lengthy message on her personal account, sharing her stance on the BTS-related post that recently became controversial.
Previously, she mentioned BTS’s Gwanghwamun comeback performance and their 5th full album “Arirang,” praising them by saying: “BTS has returned with a historic live comeback performance at Gwanghwamun along with their new album ‘Arirang’ after 3 years and 9 months.”

She continued to express high satisfaction with the album: “The 14 released tracks showcase perfect curation. It’s been so long since I listened to an entire album without skipping a single song.”
She also showed her affection, stating: “The beats are unbelievably good, the sound is refined, and every lyric is layered with multiple meanings—philosophical and poetic. Any ARMY would be able to feel how much thought and effort all 7 members put into this.”
In particular, regarding RM, she said: “In this album, the strength of our leader Kim Namjoon, who suffered an ankle injury during practice, inevitably stands out.”
She also praised Jin, adding: “Even standing ovations all day wouldn’t be enough.” —clearly expressing her fan sentiment.

However, a short phrase she posted earlier caused controversy online. On the March 21st, Lee Jung Woo wrote: “A leader who speaks English and members who still can’t even after 10 years 😂” and later added: “Still, I love them all.”
This expression quickly spread, and some interpreted it as a sarcastic remark, leading to divided opinions.
In response, Lee Jung Woo expressed her frustration: “In this country, can’t the family of a celebrity even enjoy being a fan freely?”
She continued: “I retired a long time ago. I’m just one of 8.48 billion people.” and questioned: “Would a 10-year ARMY post something criticizing the people they support? Especially when they’ve made a grand comeback with a great album after 3 years and 9 months?”
She further explained: “It was something the members talked about jokingly during a Weverse live, and I found it funny and posted it on my story while laughing.”
She also emphasized: “I’m not even good at English myself, so I’m in no position to comment on someone else’s English skills.”

In the end, what Lee Jung Woo wanted to highlight was not criticism but her love as a fan. However, a single short expression was interpreted in an unintended way, leading to her lament that “even the family of a celebrity cannot freely enjoy being a fan.”
