Appearing together on You Quiz on the Block, Yerin Ha shared behind-the-scenes stories from her role as Sophie Baek, the first East Asian female lead in the globally popular series.
However, it was Son Sook’s unexpected comment about the drama’s romantic scenes that stole the spotlight. “Those who watched it know… there were some slightly revealing scenes,” she said, prompting immediate embarrassment from her granddaughter.

Yerin Ha quickly reacted, asking, “Grandma, you watched all of that? You didn’t skip it?” Son Sook replied honestly, “Even though I’m an actress, seeing my granddaughter like that was still a bit awkward.”
Despite the awkwardness, Son Sook expressed deep pride in her granddaughter’s achievement. She revealed that although she doesn’t usually watch much TV due to poor eyesight, she finished four episodes of Bridgerton 4 in a single day. “I sat so close to the TV that my back started hurting, but I really enjoyed it,” she shared, showing her affection and support.

During the interview, Yerin Ha also highlighted how her casting influenced cultural details in the show. She revealed that her character’s surname was changed from “Beckett” to “Baek,” and even small elements like accessories were adjusted to reflect Korean identity. “I think it’s meaningful to confidently show my Korean identity as an actress,” she said.
The heartwarming yet humorous exchange between grandmother and granddaughter quickly became a talking point among viewers, showcasing both generational differences and genuine family support.
