He then opened up about a fear he still carries.

Infinite Challenge star Haha revealed that he has been smoke-free for four years for the sake of his daughter, Ha Song, who once battled a rare illness.

In a new video shared on March 15, 2026 (KST) on the YouTube channel Jodongari, Haha appeared as a guest alongside comedians Kim Yong Man, Kim Soo Yong, and Ji Suk Jin, reflecting on their 20-year careers in broadcasting.
During the episode, Haha commented to Kim Soo Yong—who recently quit smoking after surviving cardiac arrest—saying, “Hyung, you’ve really changed after quitting smoking.”
Haha then shared his own story about quitting smoking.

I quit smoking four years ago, when Song-ie was sick. I felt so ashamed before God. I had been living recklessly and hadn’t done much with my life, so I thought maybe I should at least give up one thing I love. That’s why I quit smoking.

And in a moment of vulnerability, Haha opened up about a lingering fear, explaining, “I quit completely because I’m afraid that if I start again, she might get sick again.”

Haha’s daughter was diagnosed in 2022 with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare condition that weakens muscles. She has since made a full recovery, receiving support and encouragement from many.
