The upcoming 98th Academy Awards have been placed on high alert after warnings of a possible Iranian drone attack, prompting organizers to significantly strengthen security measures.

According to foreign media outlets including Variety on March 11 (local time), the FBI recently obtained intelligence suggesting Iran could carry out drone attacks targeting the U.S. West Coast in retaliation for American military actions. Authorities reportedly alerted law enforcement agencies in California about the potential threat.

As a result, security across Los Angeles, where the ceremony will take place, has been elevated to the highest level. Organizers of the Academy Awards stated that they have implemented extraordinary security protocols following the warning.
Raj Kapoor, the executive producer of the Oscars, reassured the public about the preparations. “An industry-leading security team has been deployed, and we are working closely with the FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department,” he said. “Every year we closely monitor global security situations.”
He added that ensuring safety for everyone involved remains the top priority. “We will do everything possible so that all attendees and fans watching outside the venue feel that they are fully protected.”

The heightened alert comes as anticipation builds for a special performance related to Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters. Singers Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who performed the film’s theme song “Golden,” are scheduled to take the stage during the ceremony.
The film KPop Demon Hunters has received nominations in two categories, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, drawing additional global attention to the event.
The 98th Academy Awards will take place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, with heightened security measures in place as organizers prepare for one of the film industry’s biggest nights.
