According to a report by MyDaily on March 7, actress Jeon So-nee has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming drama Love Affair. Love Affair tells the story of a man whose life collapses after encountering a love as powerful and uncontrollable as a natural disaster. The drama is described as a melodramatic thriller, exploring passion, obsession, and the destructive consequences of love.
Jeon So-nee will play architect Gong Hu-gyeong, a woman whose life changes after she unexpectedly meets Kim Ji-hoon (played by Lee Dong-wook) while traveling to Madrid, Spain. The two share an intense connection from their first meeting, eventually falling into a passionate relationship. Unable to suppress her feelings for him, Gong Hu-gyeong later returns to Korea, despite knowing the love she is chasing could lead to a personal downfall.

In the drama, Lee Dong-wook portrays Kim Ji-hoon, the head of a team at the Korean Intellectual Property Office. The story becomes even more complicated with the presence of Ji-hoon’s wife, Lee Sun-hee, played by Jung Yu-mi. The character is a popular YouTuber, adding another layer of tension to the unfolding love triangle.
Jeon So-nee has steadily built a strong reputation through various projects. She previously appeared in Netflix’s Parasyte: The Grey and Melo Movie, and last year she received attention for her performance in You Killed Me. With Love Affair, the actress will take on a more daring role, portraying a woman consumed by a passionate and dangerous love.
The series is written by Ha Su-jin, known for works such as Sell Your Haunted House and The Matchmakers. Direction will be handled by Mo Wan-il, the acclaimed director behind hit dramas Misty and The World of the Married. With a powerful cast and an experienced production team, Love Affair is already drawing attention as one of the most anticipated thriller romances in development.
