In a recent interview with Thai media, Mai Davika admitted she still feels a little shy and unfamiliar when being introduced as someone’s wife. “It feels strange. There was a moment when I attended an event and they said, ‘This is her husband.’ I was like, ‘Oh wow.’ When you move from being in a relationship to changing your official status, you really feel that difference,” she shared.
As they step into married life, both Mai and Ter Chantavit are learning how to balance their egos and communicate openly. The actress explained how they handle moments when affection does not meet expectations: “You just adjust your mindset. If one day it doesn’t feel like enough, then just ask for more.”

She also revealed a humorous Valentine’s Day story. Before marriage, Ter would often surprise her with 1,000 flowers. This year, shortly after their wedding, she playfully asked if he had ordered flowers for Valentine’s Day. He replied yes 30 flowers. “I said, ‘Wait, why did the number drop after we got married?’ I told him, ‘That’s not okay. I’ve only just become a wife in my first year and you’re already showing your true colors!’” she joked.
Rather than feeling upset, Mai said she simply tells him directly if she wants more. “That’s how you stay together for the long run. In a relationship, being honest is the best way.” She even teased her husband to cut roses from their own garden and present them romantically. According to Mai, Ter appreciates her straightforwardness. “Men don’t overthink like women do. There’s no need for mind games. If you want something, just say it.”

For Mai, self-love is equally important. She openly discussed investing millions of baht in beauty treatments to maintain her appearance, explaining that as an actress, her image is part of her professional responsibility. “I’ve calculated it before I’ve spent millions on skincare, lasers, and treatments. I make a living with my appearance, so I have to take care of it to meet the expectations of partners and employers. Studio lighting damages the skin the most, so I also take vitamins regularly,” she said.
Born Davika Hoorne in 1992 to a Thai-Belgian family, Mai rose to fame through the blockbuster film Pee Mak. The film not only skyrocketed her career across Asia but also connected her fate with Ter, who was one of its screenwriters. They later reunited in the drama Man is not real woman. Ter has often praised Mai for her professionalism and eagerness to learn.

When the couple first went public with their relationship, they faced criticism. Some doubted Mai was a suitable match for Ter, who is known for his strong academic background and reputation as an accomplished actor, screenwriter, and director. Ter himself gained fame through hit films such as Hello Stranger, ATM: Er Rak Error, and One Day, having started his career behind the scenes before becoming a beloved on-screen presence with his natural comedic charm.
After eight years of friendship and love, Ter proposed to Mai in mid-2024 with a stunning 15-carat diamond ring. The couple officially married in November 2025, marking the beginning of what they describe as a partnership built on honesty, laughter, and mutual growth.
