BLACKPINK’s third mini-album Deadline sold 1,461,785 physical copies worldwide on its first day of release on Feb. 27, 2026, according to Hanteo Chart data, marking the highest first-day sales ever for a female K-pop group.
The EP, released via YG Entertainment, surpassed all previous benchmarks within 24 hours. Early reports showed 1,287,614 copies sold in the first 4 hours and 30 minutes alone, building to the final tally that beat aespa’s My World (1.37 million) and the group’s own Born Pink (1.01 million). This makes BLACKPINK the first girl group in Hanteo history with multiple albums exceeding 1 million first-day sales.
Deadline is the quartet’s first group project since Born Pink in 2022, ending a three-year wait filled with solo activities and a world tour, according to Forbes.
The five-track collection includes the title track “Go,” pre-release single “Jump” (which topped Billboard Global 200 last year), “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.” “Go” features writing credits from all members, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, plus Coldplay’s Chris Martin, with production by longtime collaborator Teddy and Cirkut.
YG linked the album title to the group’s Deadline World Tour, which began in July 2025 at Goyang Stadium and included historic shows like Wembley Stadium. The agency delayed the release from 2025 to ensure quality, thanking fans for their patience, Georgia Listens reported.
Sales data reflect strong pre-order demand and fan mobilization, positioning Deadline as the second-highest first-day seller in K-pop for 2026 so far, behind only ENHYPEN’s The Sin: Vanish. It debuted at No. 1 on Hanteo, underscoring BLACKPINK’s global dominance despite competition from Bruno Mars’ new album. Projections suggest ongoing sales will challenge monthly top-sellers like ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part 4.
This comeback reinforces BLACKPINK’s record-breaking legacy in K-pop sales and streaming. Fans celebrated online, with social media trends highlighting the group’s enduring appeal, as per the Times of India.
