According to a February 24 report by The Fact, Taemin recently terminated his contract with the agency. Although the agreement had not expired, Taemin reportedly strongly requested contract termination, and both sides reached a mutual agreement without escalating the matter into a legal dispute.

Industry insiders claim that the separation was triggered by serious trust issues. Allegations of unpaid settlements amounting to tens of billions of won had already surfaced, raising concerns about financial transparency. On top of that, reports suggest that the agency proceeded with an external contract without Taemin’s consent, which allegedly became the decisive factor in the breakdown of trust.
Under these circumstances, CEO Cha Ga Won was reportedly left with little choice but to accept Taemin’s demand for termination.
Taemin joined Big Planet Made in March 2024 after concluding his 16-year contract with SM Entertainment on March 16. His transfer marked a new chapter in his career after spending over a decade and a half under SM. However, less than two years later, he is once again at a crossroads.

Big Planet Made Entertainment became a subsidiary under One Hundred Label, which was established in December 2023 by Cha Ga Won and MC Mong. Amid corporate restructuring and ongoing operational controversies, Taemin ultimately decided to end the partnership.

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, both sides reportedly settled the matter amicably without pursuing legal conflict. As of now, Taemin has not announced his next agency or management plans, leaving fans closely watching for updates on his future moves.
