“He sounds honest…”
BTS‘s J-Hope has gained attention after responding to “hickey” allegations during his recent live broadcast with fans.

To celebrate his birthday, J-Hope did a special live broadcast.
One clip from the live has been going viral where someone asked J-Hope about a kiss/hickey they seemingly saw on his neck. In particular, while J-Hope used the word “kiss,” in Korea, the term “kiss mark” refers to a hickey rather than the more innocent use. J-Hope seemed curious as to where it was, and after seeing what fans meant, the idol explained that it was an allergy and that he had been scratching it.
@hiza966 Atleast he tried 😭😭 #bts #btsarmy #jhope #explore #junghoseok
Netizens found J-Hope’s response hilarious.

While some have claimed it was a mistranslation and that J-Hope said “scratch,” the phrase for that is pronounced “giss,” and it tends to be used in contexts like on your car, mirror, glasses, or phone screen, rather than physically.
