On February 16, Choi Jun Hee shared a lengthy post along with photos, writing, “I’m getting married!” In her heartfelt message, she reflected on her personal journey. “Family has never been an easy word for me. After a childhood filled with sadness, I long promised myself that someday I would build a warm fence of my own,” she wrote. “Now, not as someone’s daughter but as a wife and as someone creating a new family of my own, I want to live a stronger and warmer life.”

She is set to marry a non-celebrity office worker 11 years her senior on May 16 at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. Emphasizing privacy, she added, “My fiancé is a private individual, so I ask that people refrain from unverified stories or speculation. This is precious daily life for both of us.”
However, controversy arose over the wedding photos she released. In the background of the images, small statues resembling Buddhist figures—possibly Ksitigarbha—were lined up, each adorned with flowers or decorative elements.
Some netizens claimed that the arrangement resembled spaces commonly seen in Japanese temples dedicated to “Mizuko Kuyo,” a memorial ritual for miscarried or stillborn children, where similar statues are placed in rows. The resemblance led to speculation and debate online.

That said, based solely on the photos, it is difficult to definitively determine whether the location is connected to Mizuko Kuyo practices or if it is simply a general temple space featuring Ksitigarbha statues. No official clarification has been provided regarding the exact significance of the site.

Born in 2003, Choi Jun Hee is the daughter of the late actress Choi Jin Sil and late professional baseball player Cho Sung-min. Choi Jin Sil and Cho Sung-min married in 2000 and divorced in 2004, raising two children, Hwan Hee and Jun Hee. Choi Jin Sil passed away in 2008, followed by her younger brother Choi Jin-young in 2010. Cho Sung-min also passed away in 2013.

Choi Jun Hee has since built her own presence as an influencer, communicating with the public primarily through social media. Last August, she revealed that she and her older brother, singer Choi Hwan Hee (also known as Ben Bliss), had introduced their respective partners to broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung, even joking that they had received her “approval.”
As Choi Jun Hee prepares for her wedding, public interest remains high—not only in her new beginning but also in the symbolic meaning, if any, behind her choice of photoshoot location.
