Former Crayon Pop member ChoA has been hospitalized after experiencing contractions and sudden bleeding while expecting identical twins, in what doctors are treating as a high‑risk pregnancy.
ChoA, whose real name is Heo Min Jin, announced on her social media on Feb. 15 that she was admitted to the hospital due to contractions and unexpected bleeding late in her pregnancy.
She wrote that the twins are currently stable and that both the contractions and the bleeding have been brought under control, but added that she will remain under observation until doctors decide whether she can be discharged.
ChoA is now at 33 weeks and is scheduled to give birth in March, according to allkpop. She previously shared that she is carrying identical twins, whom she has nicknamed “Heart” and “Cute,” and that she conceived through in vitro fertilization after fertility‑preserving surgery linked to a past cancer diagnosis.
Medical staff have set a planned Caesarean section for early March, which is common for twin pregnancies categorized as high‑risk.
Doctors have explained that twin pregnancies, especially after a history of cervical cancer and fertility‑preserving surgery, often require more frequent monitoring and can be classified as high‑risk due to higher chances of early labor, bleeding, and complications tied to the cervix.
In ChoA’s case, doctors had warned that holding the pregnancy until at least 28 weeks would be an important milestone, given how her uterus was affected by earlier treatment.
Reports note that in vitro and twin pregnancies like hers are often closely watched for cervical shortening, amniotic fluid levels, and growth differences to reduce the risk of preterm birth, Cleveland Clinic reported.
In 2022, ChoA revealed she was diagnosed with cervical cancer during a prenatal checkup, which led to surgery and fertility preservation treatment.
After several follow‑up exams and recovery, she was later cleared to try for pregnancy and successfully became pregnant with twins in 2025, describing the pregnancy as especially precious given her earlier prognosis.
She has also shared that she suffered intense morning sickness in the first trimester and rapid weight gain later on, which are common but more pronounced in twin pregnancies.
Her husband, a businessman six years her senior whom she married in 2021, has been frequently seen accompanying her to hospital visits and has publicly thanked medical staff for their careful management of her high‑risk case.
ChoA has remained active on social media throughout her pregnancy, including sharing a full‑term maternity photoshoot just before her hospitalization, which drew many messages of support from fans. Many fans and fellow stars have expressed concern about her high‑risk status and are sending wishes for her and the twins’ safe delivery, as per Wow Korea.
