Another heartwarming story surrounding actor Go Soo has resurfaced, drawing attention for his actions against on-set power harassment. The anecdote was shared by actor Kim Jae-il, who recalled his experience working with Go Soo during a past project. Kim Jae-il posted the story on his social media account in September last year, and the post has recently been rediscovered and widely shared online as an example of Go Soo’s character.
Kim explained that he had been cast in a minor role as a driver, a scene that required him to stop the car at an exact position within the camera frame. However, tensions arose when a staff member began verbally berating him for failing to position the vehicle correctly. “It wasn’t even my car, and I’m an actor, not someone whose job is parking cars,” Kim wrote, recalling the moment. “But the staff member started swearing, asking how I could mess something like that up.”
According to Kim, Go Soo immediately intervened. Opening the rear window of the car, Go Soo confronted the staff member directly. “You try it yourself. Why are you shouting like that? Did this person come here to be a driver?” Go Soo reportedly said, using strong language to shut down the abuse.
Kim Jae-il admitted he felt awkward standing there but expressed deep gratitude for Go Soo’s actions. “There are a few actors like that,” he added, concluding simply, “Go Soo is a good actor.” While Kim did not specify which project the incident occurred on, the story has since spread online as another example of Go Soo’s reputation for professionalism and integrity. Go Soo previously appeared in Missing, and the resurfaced praise has reinforced his image as an actor who not only delivers strong performances but also protects colleagues on set.
Kim Jae-il has built his career as a scene-stealing supporting actor across numerous dramas and films and is currently active as an acting coach. His most recent appearance was in the 2024 tvN drama Parole Examiner Lee, where he played the role of an unscrupulous official.
As discussions around workplace respect in the entertainment industry continue, Go Soo’s reported actions have resonated with many, highlighting the importance of senior figures using their influence to stand up for others.
