Won Bin has been on an extended hiatus since starring in the 2010 hit film The Man From Nowhere. Now marking 16 years without a single acting role, he has largely disappeared from public view, aside from occasional commercial appearances. Despite this, his name remains a frequent topic of discussion, underscoring his enduring star power.

Most recently, updates on Won Bin came through his wife, actress Lee Na-young. On January 26, Lee attended the press conference for ENA’s new drama Honour, marking her return to television after three years. As expected, questions about Won Bin followed.
When asked whether her husband had supported her comeback, Lee replied that he had. “We read the script together and enjoyed it,” she said, adding that as a fellow actor, Won Bin understood the challenges she faced and encouraged her with words like “Stay strong” and “It must be difficult.”

Additional glimpses into Won Bin’s life surfaced through his nephew Han Ga-eul, who appeared on actor Lee Si-eon’s YouTube channel Sian’s School last December. When webtoon artist Kian84 casually asked if Won Bin was doing well, Han nodded with a smile, sparking surprise among the cast when it was revealed that Won Bin was her uncle.
Broadcaster Shin Dong-yup also added to the conversation, sharing on his YouTube channel Zzanbro Shin Dong-yup that he had recently run into Won Bin in person. Shin remarked that Won Bin was “shockingly handsome,” noting his small face and unchanged visuals, saying he still looked as striking as ever.

Through these secondhand accounts, Won Bin continues to command attention without making any public appearances himself. While fans still hold out hope for a return, a growing number have begun to accept that his acting comeback may never come.
As of 2026, Won Bin remains active in the advertising world. A commercial he filmed last May for lifestyle platform Ajungdang surpassed 28 million views, proving that his influence has hardly faded.
