In a video released on January 23 on Daesung’s YouTube channel Zip Daesung, titled “A cosmic explosion and the appearance of a superpowered being… This is getting interesting,” Suho shared that he personally requested to appear on the show. During the episode, he candidly confessed feelings he had kept private for years.
“I was a fan of BIGBANG sunbaenims. I’ve never really said this anywhere before,” Suho admitted, revealing his long-suppressed admiration. When Daesung initially thought it might be polite talk, Suho firmly clarified, “No, it’s not that. I was genuinely a huge fan.”
Fellow EXO member Kai, who appeared alongside him, backed up Suho’s statement by recalling their trainee days. “I remember when we were trainees. He always had their songs on his iPod. He bought the CDs himself and put them in. He had every album,” Kai shared.
Suho also explained why he had never openly expressed his fandom in the past. “I’m from SM, after all. Back then, you really couldn’t go around saying you liked BIGBANG,” he said, prompting Daesung to agree that the industry atmosphere at the time made such things sensitive.
Recalling his first encounter with BIGBANG, Suho said, “I don’t know if you remember, but we debuted on Inkigayo. You were promoting then too. We went to greet you on our debut day, and you were the one who smiled the brightest and greeted us warmly.”
Suho went on to express his excitement for BIGBANG’s upcoming 20th anniversary activities. “I’m really looking forward to this year. Honestly, I’m even more excited about the 20th anniversary album than our own comeback,” he said with a laugh, adding that he is considering attending Coachella in April specifically to watch BIGBANG’s stage.
