Lee Na Young, often dubbed Korea’s timeless beauty and wife of actor Won Bin, is taking on a drastically different character in the new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama “Honour.” The legal mystery series revolves around a 20-year-old secret that the three lawyer friends buried, which resurfaces and throws their lives into chaos.
Lee Na Young revealed that she was immediately drawn to the script: “I read it all in one go, like I was devouring a novel. I couldn’t stop—each episode left me wanting more.” What captivated her even more was the character Yoon Ra Young, a high-profile star lawyer with hundreds of thousands of social media followers and a polished public image.
But Yoon Ra Young is far more than her glamorous exterior. As the public face of a law firm specializing in female victim advocacy, she also harbors a mysterious and painful past. Lee Na Young explained, “Ra Young wears a kind of armor—there’s a reason she doesn’t stop, even when things become dangerous. It’s about more than justice; it’s about redemption.”
Her character’s internal battles are deeply layered, and Lee shared that this complexity made the role particularly challenging. “There wasn’t a single easy scene,” she admitted. “Every moment was filled with conflicting emotions. Sometimes, I had to film after crying intensely off-camera to access what Ra Young was feeling.”
The actress said the role was unlike anything she had done before, both in terms of character and genre. “I wanted to challenge myself. This was a complete departure from the roles I’ve played in the past.” She added that Honour allowed her to expand her range as an actress: “This drama gave me the space to grow and push my boundaries.”
Adding to the intrigue, Yoon Ra Young’s sharp instincts and realistic worldview make her a formidable force in the courtroom.
