The Taiwanese entertainment industry has been shaken by a disturbing personal scandal involving actress Chen Kuang-yi, once hailed as one of the most beautiful “youth goddesses” in showbiz. The actress has sparked widespread concern after allegedly writing a suicide note following accusations from several former male university classmates, who claimed she made inappropriate advances toward them despite their being married.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Chen Kuang-yi’s unusual behavior has allegedly been going on for years. Several male classmates from her university said they received messages from the actress asking to meet privately. These meetings were reportedly suggested late at night, either at the men’s homes or in secluded public places. Some claimed that when she appeared, Chen Kuang-yi was dressed in revealing sleepwear such as thin camisoles and shorts.

One former classmate who agreed to meet her said Chen Kuang-yi behaved erratically, speaking incoherently and asking highly personal questions ranging from income and marital relationships to whether he would consider dating her. Alarmed by her mental state, the man reportedly made an excuse to leave and later blocked her contact.
In October, Chen Kuang-yi was also involved in a dispute with a male senior from her university after she posted a photo from a dinner gathering on social media that included him. As the man is married with children and feared misunderstandings, he reportedly contacted her politely and asked her to remove the photo. Instead, Chen Kuang-yi allegedly reacted angrily, questioning whether his wife was upset and refusing to delete the post, even challenging him to involve a lawyer.

“I attended one dinner with her in 2023, hosted by a mutual friend. I barely knew her and only greeted her out of politeness, yet she behaved irrationally,” the man was quoted as saying. “If she has an illness, she should seek treatment.”
After the accusations of approaching former classmates surfaced, Chen Kuang-yi caused further alarm by posting a series of dark, despairing messages on social media, suggesting suicidal thoughts. She claimed she felt devastated by accusations that she was trying to become a “third party” in other people’s marriages, despite once being romantically pursued by well-known actors such as Chen Bolin and Guo Pin-chao.

“My suicide note is almost finished. How can you all say such untrue things about me? I’ve endured enough. You are the ones who pushed me into depression and a life surrounded by criticism and slander,” she wrote.
Friends and acquaintances are said to be deeply worried about her mental stability. Sources claim Chen Kuang-yi has shown signs of psychological distress since last year. She was reportedly once seen wandering the streets for two consecutive days and even changing clothes inside a glass-fronted store facing a busy road.
Born in 1987, Chen Kuang-yi rose to fame as one of Taiwan’s most beloved young actresses, starring in popular dramas such as Tiny Times, Heart Of Steel, and Prince William. In recent years, however, her career has stalled amid public backlash, including a past scandal involving leaked photos linked to an alleged affair with actor Chang Hsiao-chuan.
