In a rare moment of candid vulnerability, BTS leader RM (Kim Namjoon) openly addressed concerns and frustrations regarding HYBE, the group’s agency, during a Weverse group live broadcast on December 21.
The livestream, which featured all seven members post-military discharge, was largely celebratory. Members shared hopeful visions for 2026, exclaiming, “Let’s make 2026 the year of BTS,” and teasing that something “big” was on the horizon. Yet, RM’s unexpected remarks shifted the tone.

“I don’t usually say things like this,” RM began cautiously, “but I hope the company would embrace us more.” The sentiment resonated deeply with fans, highlighting an apparent emotional distance between the global superstars and their label. His words, though measured, hinted at broader internal struggles, possibly linked to BTS’s hiatus and delayed comeback plans.
This isn’t the first time RM has opened up about BTS’s uncertain timeline. In previous communications, he clarified that the group didn’t “waste 2025’s second half,” but that certain decisions were beyond their control. “We didn’t want to let it go either,” he said, implying structural or strategic reasons behind the absence of group promotions.

Further intensifying concern, RM admitted he had “thought about whether it would be better to stop the team” numerous times. However, he emphasized that it was the mutual love between members and the unwavering support from ARMY that kept them going.
Adding to the current whirlwind surrounding BTS, youngest member Jungkook is currently embroiled in dating rumors with aespa’s Winter, which neither HYBE nor SM Entertainment has commented on. This lack of clarity is fueling fan speculation and adding to what some are calling a “chaotic” transition period for the group.
Despite the turbulence, BTS is reportedly preparing for a full-group comeback album, scheduled for spring 2026, which would mark their first release as a seven-member team post-enlistment.

Whether RM’s comments will prompt a response from HYBE remains to be seen. For now, his honesty has ignited both concern and admiration among fans—many of whom echo his call for greater transparency and care from the company that built K-pop’s most globally successful act.
