Returning three years after the second installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash is one of the most highly anticipated blockbusters by global audiences. Alongside familiar faces like Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their children, Pandora expands even further to introduce the Ash People and many new layers to its universe. But who are the real people behind these iconic Na’vi characters?
First up are the iconic lead duo beloved by Avatar fans – Jake Sully and Neytiri. Actor Sam Worthington reprises his role as the brave protagonist, now a father and a fugitive targeted by humans. Meanwhile, Zoe Saldana continues to portray the fierce Neytiri, who stands by her husband and children to protect Pandora from destruction both internal and external.

In addition to the Sully family, Avatar: Fire and Ash brings back the Metkayina clan leaders – Tonowari and Ronal. Cliff Curtis and Titanic beauty Kate Winslet return as the husband-and-wife duo, joining the battle once more against the “Sky People.” Notably, Ronal is pregnant in this film and may give birth during the story.

The villain who just won’t die – Colonel Miles Quaritch – also makes his return in Avatar: Fire and Ash. Though he was eliminated in the first film, advanced memory storage technology has resurrected him in Na’vi form. Stephen Lang once again brings the character to life, promising to unleash a powerful army to retake Pandora.

Next are the children of the Sully family. Adopted daughter Kiri, portrayed by legendary 76-year-old actress Sigourney Weaver, is the reincarnation of Dr. Grace Augustine. With her unique origin, Kiri is expected to play a pivotal role and hold a deep spiritual connection with Eywa.

Lo’ak, the adventurous second son who often worries his parents, is played by 2001-born actor Britain Dalton. With a visibly more mature appearance, Dalton brings a more courageous and grown-up version of Lo’ak, especially after his strained relationship with his parents following the death of his brother.

Finally, there’s Tuk, the youngest and most sensitive member of the Sully family, who is protected dearly by everyone. She is portrayed by child actress Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, who, after several years, has grown into a graceful young lady.

As the Sully kids face new challenges, they meet new friends across Pandora. Returning in Avatar: Fire and Ash, Tsireya – daughter of the Metkayina chief – is again played by Bailey Bass (born in 2003), and will be a key figure in Lo’ak’s personal journey.

As the only human who lives naturally among the Na’vi, Spider remains portrayed by Jack Champion. This time, Spider will become a major conflict point, caught between the Sully family and his biological father, Colonel Quaritch.
The most striking addition to Avatar: Fire and Ash is the character Varang, a fierce and captivating leader of the Ash People. Representing the darker side of the Na’vi, Varang has been shaped by pain and is willing to ally with Quaritch to lay waste to Pandora. The role was entrusted by James Cameron to actress Oona Chaplin, known for Game of Thrones and granddaughter of film legend Charlie Chaplin. With her beauty and powerful performance, Chaplin left a strong impression on Cameron, particularly by crafting Varang’s unique movement and combat style herself.

Avatar: Fire and Ash will premiere on December 19, 2025.
