Iconic actors Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo have reunited for the highly anticipated female buddy film, Project Y, showcasing their strong on-screen synergy and off-screen friendship. The production presentation was held on December 16 at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, with actors Han So-hee, Jeon Jong-seo, Jung Young-joo, Yoo Ah, and others in attendance.
Project Y follows Mi-seon (Han So-hee) and Doh-kyung (Jeon Jong-seo), two young women navigating the bustling city while dreaming of a different tomorrow. Their lives take a thrilling turn when they steal illicit money and gold bars, embarking on a high-stakes adventure.

Director Lee Hwan explained the meaning behind the title: “‘Project Y’ may sound grand. ‘Y’ stands for ‘young,’ ‘youth,’ or even ‘yum.’ I wanted the audience to think about their own perspective and, for older viewers, recall youthful desires. The title is abstract, but I hope each viewer completes their own ‘Y’ after watching.”
Han So-hee described her character Mi-seon as “someone who dreams of freedom and an ordinary life more than anyone else, navigating tough situations with the only person she can trust, Doh-kyung, while carving her own path.”
Jeon Jong-seo added, “Doh-kyung is a character who takes risks and aims for a big payoff. There’s a heavy, ‘life is a gamble’ aspect to her.”

Han So-hee praised their collaboration: “Filming felt very fluid. We discussed each scene in detail before shooting, which helped our characters blend seamlessly. Doh-kyung’s wild and rugged charm contrasts with Jeon Jong-seo’s real-life fair and slim appearance, making her complete absorption into the role impressive.”
She continued, “Although there are human aspects of Doh-kyung I shouldn’t emulate, her straightforward nature resonated with me. On set, her immersion in the scenes was inspiring, which helped me enjoy the process even more.”
Jeon Jong-seo reciprocated the praise: “Having Han So-hee on set as a friend, colleague, and co-actor was a huge source of comfort and strength. During extremely cold and physically demanding scenes, seeing her lead without hesitation was remarkable. I learned a lot from her, both professionally and personally.”
Project Y is scheduled to be released on January 21, 2026.
