Taiwanese actress Jenny Cheng has found herself at the center of controversy following her steamy appearance in the romantic drama Lost in Perfection (人浮於愛), where she guest-starred opposite actor Fandy Fan in a provocative bathroom kiss scene.

In the recently aired episode, Fan’s character, intoxicated during a birthday celebration, is seduced by Cheng’s character — a storyline that quickly escalates from a sneaky kiss at the table to an intense make-out session in the bathroom. The passionate scene, full of physical closeness, drew sharp reactions online.

After posting behind-the-scenes clips on her Instagram, Jenny Cheng was met with an unexpected wave of criticism. Some netizens, particularly those using anonymous or fake accounts, slammed her with comments like, “He’s a married man — why are you posting this?” implying that her actions were inappropriate.

In response, Cheng issued a light-hearted but firm statement:
“This was a scripted guest appearance — what is there to ‘cling’ to? Many actors are married and still perform kiss scenes. This is acting.”
She also included a laughing-through-tears emoji, reflecting both her amusement and frustration over the misunderstanding.

To shed light on the production process, Cheng shared that the scene was carefully coordinated with a professional intimacy coach.

“Before filming, we went through trust-building exercises: eye contact, handshakes, then hugs — to create a safe space and mutual understanding,” she explained.
Acknowledging her natural shyness, Cheng admitted she even took two shots of alcohol before filming to ease her nerves.

“*I was really nervous!*” she confessed.

Thanks to the guidance of the intimacy coordinator and support from director and co-star Fan, the shoot went smoothly. Cheng expressed gratitude for the safe working environment, saying,
“It was a blessing to work with such a professional team. I hope viewers enjoy the performance.”
The scene has since sparked broader conversations online about the professionalism of actors in romantic roles, especially those involving married celebrities. Cheng’s transparency and measured response have earned her praise from fans who appreciate her dedication to her craft and her handling of online backlash.
