Soyeon, a former member of the K-pop girl group T-ara, is facing growing scrutiny from fans after missing the weddings of two fellow group members — Hyomin in April and, more recently, Eunjung on November 30. What’s raising eyebrows isn’t just her absence, but the fact that she was reportedly in South Korea just days before the ceremony.
Eunjung tied the knot with film director Kim Byung-woo in a private wedding attended by several T-ara members, including Qri, Jiyeon, and even former member Hwayoung. However, Soyeon was noticeably missing — again.

According to media outlets and Soyeon’s own social media posts, she was in Seoul on November 18 to watch her husband Cho Yu-min, a professional football player and national team defender, compete in the South Korea vs. Ghana match at Seoul World Cup Stadium. She even shared photos from the stands supporting him.
Yet by the time Eunjung’s wedding came around, not only was Soyeon no longer in Korea, but she also posted nothing related to the wedding on her Instagram — no photos, no congratulatory messages.

This marks the second time this year that Soyeon has missed a T-ara member’s wedding. In April, she was also absent from Hyomin’s ceremony, despite her longtime friendship with the group.

Soyeon is currently living in Dubai with Cho Yu-min, who transferred to Sharjah FC in the UAE in 2023. The couple, who legally married in 2022 after dating for three years, have no children. With Cho’s transfer reportedly involving a 1.5 billion KRW ($1.15 million USD) fee and a salary now estimated at 2 billion KRW annually, the couple relocated to Dubai where Soyeon often travels in line with her husband’s football schedule.
While no official statement has been made regarding her absence, fans and netizens have voiced mixed reactions online. Some speculate about strained group dynamics, while others argue that personal commitments and international travel could have been valid reasons.
As T-ara members continue celebrating milestones in their personal lives, fans are left wondering whether Soyeon’s repeated absences signal deeper rifts — or simply the growing pains of adulthood and diverging paths.
