Fans were tickled.
K-beauty brand mixsoon has just revealed its newest campaign model, but fans were left doing a double take after realizing the “new face” wasn’t actually a real person.
Earlier this week, mixsoon introduced Uhm Ji Hoon as their latest model, complete with a polished photoshoot, brand poses, and a full promotional rollout.

At first glance, Uhm Ji Hoon appears to be a handsome rising actor or trainee-type celebrity.

But Uhm Ji Hoon doesn’t actually exist! Uhm Ji Hoon is actually a fictional persona created by comedian Uhm Ji Yoon, known for her comedic skits and alter-ego characters. Her character Uhm Ji Hoon skyrocketed in popularity for its exaggerated male characteristics. “He” even filmed a challege with LE SSERAFIM, confusing fans.

So when a real skincare brand suddenly introduced “Uhm Ji Hoon” as their official model, the internet couldn’t believe it. Instead of choosing an idol or influencer, mixsoon chose literally a “fake man” and still managed to generate massive buzz across social media.

- Gasp, it’s perfectly suited.
- OMG DON’T LOL. Is the world pranking me?
- Crazy LOOOOL.
- It’s clean and nice.
- Sigh, how handsome. Oppa! Ji Hoon oppa!
mixsoon’s “new male model” may not exist, but the campaign’s impact definitely does.
